Rendering in C4D

I remember my first time in "trying" to render something in cinema4d, it didn't go down too well, so this tutorial will teach the beginners how to render their model in Cinema4D

Requirements: A ready to render model in cinema4d.

Step 1
By now you should already have your model open in cinema4d and is all ready to render it. I'm going to pretend there's no floor or no visible light, so we're going to render so we can easily cut out the render from the black background easily later. Go to Render->Render Settings...

Step 2
It should start in the general section of the new dialogue that's just opened. Change the Antialiasing to best

Step 3
Now go to output, and put in a large Resolution size, I usually use 3000x3000

Step 4
Now into the Save area. Change the Format to TAGRA, the DPI to 300 and click on Alpha Channel.

Step 5
In Antialiasing area, change the 4x4 to 2x2. Now close the dialogue.

Step 6
Go to Render->Render to Picture Viewer... and your render will start rendering. Once it's fully complete, go to File->Save Picture As... and click OK and save it. Make sure you do this in the picture viewer, not the actual C4D window.

That's it.

When in Photoshop and you want to get rid of the black background, go to the channels layer and select the Alpha channel then use the wand selection tool to select the black area, then back to the layers tab and delete the black.

No save it as a tiff or targa then open it up in Photoshop and save it as a png

Re: Rendering in C4D

It gives me almost the same everything if I save it as a psd. So far I haven't found a "horrible" fault with it, but I rarely use psd... Normally targa.

Re: Rendering in C4D

You can also do this to take out the bg (instead of magic wand tool)

CTRL-CLICK the alpha layer, then go back to the other one and press CTRL-J. That will create a new layer with the c4d on it (no black).
