Gimpify or Photoshopify an I-pod.

My tutorial on how to make an I-pod in gimp.

1. Open up a new document any size and get your recanting select tool out.

2. Now make a rectangle in the center of the doc and color it gold or gray. You will need to round the corners of the rectangle.

3. Make a new layer.

4. Do step two again but make the rectangle a little smaller then the first one and color it any color your want it to be.

5. Now it’s time to make the knobles. Make a new layer and name it knobbles base. Now get your ellipse select tool out and hold down the shift key to make a circle. Make a circle in the center of the second rectangle.

6. Now make anther new layer and do step five again. But make this circle a lot smaller then the first one and put it in the center of the first one.

7. Now it’s time to make the little screen. Now take out your recanting select tool and hold down the shift key and make a little box in the center of the second rectangle that you mad in step two. Make sure you don’t have round corners marked off.

8. Now it’s time to make the headphone jack. Make a new layer and name it headphone jack. Now get the elliptic tool out and make a little elliptic on top of the first rectangle you have mad. Now color the elliptic and put the opacity at 96.9.

9. Now on to the hold. Get out your good old recanting tool and make a little rectangle on top of the big rectangle. Color the little rectangle and put the opacity at 80.5.

Now your have an I-pod.

Basic tutorial. There is this great one to do the same job out on the 'net. But nice to write your own. :] Maybe do step by step demonstration? Also the white in middle is off centered.

Reminds me of when I did my iPod Nano for Technology and Design using Solid Works.

This is good!
I use Gimp as my serious GFXing program, this is really good, thanks!
I don't like the uncentered circle though... ~
